Native to the Mediterranean region, this plant is often referred to as the Bee Plant; bees love it because of its sweet aroma. It is mainly used as an antidepressant, memory booster and for its soothing, sedative and nervine properties. It helps fight anxiety, stress, trauma and shock. It fights vertigo, nervousness and convulsions. It has been found to be a mood booster and wash off sadness and inspire hopeful, joyful feelings and that is probably its main medicinal benefit. Melissa Oil has great stomachic properties, calming the organ, regulating the amounts of bile and acid. It can be used to treat any scratches or ulcers in the stomach but also has benefits for the intestines, urinary tract, colon and kidneys, as well. It helps really well with PMS and menstrual cramps.
